Grace Oasis

Grace Oasis Progress

Grace Oasis children’s home, which is modeled after Haven Home in Gatab, Kenya, is currently under construction in Loiyangalani, Kenya. This home is set to open its doors to its’ first 12 kids in early 2009. When the project is complete, it will have four dormitories and one large common dining, kitchen, and recreational space. At full capacity, it will house a total of 96 children and eight parents. There will be two boys and two girls dorms each housing 24 children. These children will be permanent members of their dorm “families” and will be raised by married Christian couples from Kenya. The children will be sent to Kenya’s public schools and will complete the traditional grades 1 – 8. They will be taught the word of God and attend church and regular bible studies. Their dorm parents will model what it means to be in a marriage that honors God and adheres to biblical principals. All of their physical needs will be provided for including food, medical care, clothing, school uniforms, and a safe place to lay their heads. In short, these little hearts will be loved and given hope for a life filled with good things.

Grace Oasis Progress

Jim and Barb Teasdale and Tim and Cheryl Hinds are the missionaries overseeing this project. Grace Oasis is one part of the ministry of the church of Jesus Christ in Loiyangalani, but we believe it is a huge part… for it will not only provide for the physical needs of the kids in Loiyangalani, it will train them to be the leaders of their families, their churches, their communities, and their nation. Although the construction costs are covered by a private donor, the operating expenses for Grace Oasis are still up in the air. With the help of God and concerned individuals, our goal is to be able to cover all operating expenses as well as general upkeep and maintenance of the facility. For a mere $40 per month, one child can be given a safe, loving, Christian home. And with our 100% Giving Pledge, you can be assured that not one cent of this money will be wasted. Will you support Jim, Barb, Tim and Cheryl in this vital work?
